Institute for Research and Development

The institute provides excellent services for developing and empowering research resources, disseminating research outcomes, promoting and advancing studies on Islamic fields, and expanding related institutional networks. The institute also offers a number of grants for outstanding research projects, especially those concerning the integration issues of sciences and Islam.

Institute for Public Service

The Institute provides social services and community development programs to improve the quality of social and religious life and organizations. Public assistance covers Islamic education, human resources, and dynamics of social and economic communities. This institute has developed several village models in the applications of Islamic–based science and technology.

Quality Life of University Assurance

This body aims at encouraging the dissemination of quality–based academic culture to uphold the university’s vision. It provides training, consultancy, assistance, and cooperation within the fields of academic quality assurance and internal audit of academic quality. The primary function of the institute is supporting courses, faculties, and units to achieve international standard certification, such as ISO 9001:2000.

Study Centers

A number of study centers have been established to endorse and publish innovative studies of any existing fields. Until recently, the university has more than 20 study centers like Institute for Qur’an and Science Studies, Center for Gender Studies, Zakat (Alms) and Waqf (Donation) House, Laboratory for Ulul Albab Education, and Center for Science and Islam Integration Studies.

Printing and Publishing House

The institute facilitates lecturers and students to print and publish their works: books, journals, magazines, tabloids, etc. Two subordinate units being in charge of publishing tasks are UIN-Maliki Press (Printing and Publishing Unit) and Infopub (Information and Publication Unit).

Language Center

It provides language learning service for the University’s students. It concerns on performing two main programs: Intensive Arabic Course and Intensive English Course. The students are trained for both languages in the first two years. The two courses are compulsory for the students of any faculties as the University requires its students acquire bilingual (Arabic–English) communication skills.

Networking and Public Relation Affairs

The institute plays fundamental roles to widen network through the principle of mutual cooperation with any external parties to strengthen the University programs, promoting the University outcomes, improving the quality of the University service, and achieving the University goals. In general, it functions to build excellent reputation of and enhance public trust toward the University.

Institute for Tahfidz al-Qur’an (Qur’an Memorization)

The institute focuses on maintaining the tradition of tahfidz al-Qur’an of the university academicians by providing full access and scholarship to the huffadz students. In the last two years, more than 600 students are actively involved in the tahfidz al-Qur’an activities under the management of the institute.

Holding Company and Business Center

The holding company is a professional commerce division which functions to organize funding sources. It manages, develops, and runs all business units of the University professionally, transparently, and accountably. The business units include Food Center, Supermarket, Bookstore, and Mini-bank.

Community Service

The institute provides professional training courses and offers several services for the students:

Academic consultancy.

It advises and assists students on education affairs such as solving the students’ learning difficulties, providing information about education development, etc.

Job and career consultancy.

It enables the students to gain information about job vacancies and opportunities. Through seminars, training courses, and career counseling, it prepares the students for bright future professional career.

Overseas education consultancy.

It provides students with supporting guides and valuable information about opportunities and scholarships for foreign courses and education.

Wi-fi (Hotspot) Network

The campus area is supported by excellent wireless network which enables all students and lecturers to access the Internet freely.

Policlinic

Such a mini-hospital provides health services for the university students, lecturers, and staffs. It is equipped by modern laboratories, a drugstore, in-patient rooms, patient care rooms, examination rooms, and ambulances.

International Links

Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University, Malang has signed several international agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) to widen and strengthen its global network.
