STUDENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Faculty of Humanities student development programs are designed to comprehensively support the students’ academic, character, skill, and career development. These programs are tailored  progressively to shape competent and character-driven individuals to compete in the professional world. Below is an overview of the student development programs according to their respective stages:

Freshman (First and second semester)
In the first year, the primary focus is on strengthening academic culture and introducing campus life. Programs are designed to help students adapt to their new academic environment. Key programs include:

  • Introduction to Academic and Student Culture: The program aims to familiarize students with academic values in higher education and the campus academic environment.
  • Training on Learning Strategies in Higher Education: The training equips students with effective learning strategies at the university level, as well as time management and resource utilization skills.
  • Development of Intercultural Communication: The program enhances students’ ability to communicate effectively and respectfully across diverse cultural contexts, fostering global awareness and inclusivity.

Sophomore (Third and fourth semester)
In the second year, student development focuses on strengthening academic skills and fostering integrative Islamic character. These programs aim to deepen students’ academic competencies while enhancing their spiritual and personal growth. Key programs include:

  • Religious Moderation Training: The program instills  religious tolerance  to respect for diversity that aligns with the Islamic principle of rahmatan lil alamin (a mercy for all creatures).
  • Community-Based Spirituality Development: This initiative fosters students’ spirituality through religious and social activities within campus communities.
  • Academic Writing Skills Training: The training enhances students’ academic writing abilities, which are essential for coursework and research.
  • Plagiarism Awareness Training: The training raises awareness about the importance of originality in academic work and teaches methods to avoid plagiarism.

Junior (Fifth and sixth semester)
In the third year, the focus shifts to developing students’ skills, talents, and interests. The primary goal is to equip students with practical skills that support their professional futures. Key programs include:

  • Online Research Skills Training: The training teaches students how to effectively search, evaluate, and utilize online research resources.
  • Creative Writing Training: The training develops students’ creative writing abilities in various genres such as fiction, poetry, essays, and more.
  • Community-Based Skills Development: The program facilitates practical skill-building aligned with students’ interests and talents, while fostering social networks on campus.
  • Soft Skill Training (Professional Ethics): The training provides an understanding of professional ethics and interpersonal skills required in the workforce.

Senior (Seventh and eighth semester)
In the final year, the primary focus is on professional career development and preparation. These programs aim to enhance job-related skills and expand career opportunities. Key programs include:

  • Career Development Workshop: The workshop offers insights into various professions and prepares students for a career in the workforce.
  • Business Plan Workshop: The workshop strengthens students’ abilities to design and develop effective business plans.
  • Public Relations and Public Speaking Training: The training provides essential public communication skills to build a positive personal image and foster professional relationships.

Digital Marketing and Digital Branding Training: The training prepares students for the digital era with skills in online marketing and personal or professional brand building.
